What We Do
SPECIALTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Globalspeak uniquely converges proven visionary skills, creative strategies and management expertise in the area of local, regional, national and global economic development and international business using dynamic marketing, brand development, communications, video and audio broadcasting, publishing and interactive Web media. As a marketing specialty, look at some of Globalspeak’s economic development and public private initiatives over many years: GLOBALSPEAK ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OR PUBLIC PRIVATE PROJECTS have included clients such as the U.S. Postal Service, Tennessee Virtual Venture Forums for startups and investors, Virtual Online Trade Missions from Atlanta to Africa, and more!
U.S.DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE COMMERCIAL SERVICE (DOC) Globalspeak took the Department of Commerce into the future in 2001 by transferring their land based, city to city, How to Export seminars for small businesses to the Internet. As a matter of fact, there is a plaque honoring the Globalspeak new media webcasts in the DOC Wall of Fame. In addition, among other acknowledgements, Globalspeak’s President Frank Baia was recognized by former Secretary William Daley and other key officials in the U.S. Department of Commerce for his innovation, leadership and influence on global trade policy. Additionally, Baia was appointed to the position of U.S. Chair of the TransAtlantic Small Business Initiative (TASBI) as an adjunct to its DOC activities which strengthened Globalspeak’s public private reputation. For more than five years, Globalspeak produced in-studio videos with export expert panels that became part of the interactive viewing training platform Globalspeak developed that included self-scoring quizzes for the visitor as well as discussion boards, enrichment topic links and much more. In addition to small business export training, videos and interactive viewing platforms were produced for the DOC to help U.S. businesses understand the market opportunities in countries around the world, from Argentina to China and Africa. FYI: the Globalspeak viewing platforms were before WebEx and Google Hangouts. WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION (WTO) Globalspeak was engaged to manage the public relations on live interactive discussion boards in Geneva, Switzerland for the 1999 WTO Annual Ministerial Conference. Globalspeak, in support of its international business related site, had a reporter scheduled to send in daily audio reports on the Seattle Ministerial Conference attended by dignitaries from around the world. A live stream – a new and specialized media component at the time -- was also included in the project which Globalspeak streamed and CNN, which did not have live stream origination capabilities at the time, asked if it could pick up the Globalspeak steam. Globalspeak approved, and CNN carried the Globalspeak live stream for the 1999 WTO Ministerial Conference. ECONOMOS TRADE JOURNAL FOR THE STATE OF GEORGIA AND GLOBALSPEAK RADIO SHOW Globalspeak developed and published a quarterly global business trade journal -- amicably supported by “competitive” economic development organizations and businesses – which was distributed throughout the world promoting the state of Georgia to world-wide business audiences. During the same time, Globalspeak launched a daily live hour-long radio program before and after the Atlanta hosted Olympics focused on regional and global economic development topics, inbound investment, global issues and international business, featuring interviews with top business, education and government leaders. TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATION OF GEORGIA (TAG) As a recognized technology industry marketing leader, providing consulting, marketing and creative services for a wide range of the state’s technology industry sectors and services, Globalspeak has been a trusted advisor and vendor for the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG). Globalspeak produced the TAG TV Channel on the Internet and the Tech Talk podcast for 11 years, from 2006 through 2017, keeping organization members and larger audiences informed of technologies and people each day. The president of Globalspeak Frank Baia has served as an organization board leader and chair/member as well as producing major events for TAG over the last 16 years. Baia is recognized for impacting the growth and significance of what is today the largest technology organization of its kind in the world. He is also a driving force behind the state’s nationally recognized “Where Georgia Leads” initiative and the “Technology Hall of Fame,” having interviewed and produced award events honoring prestigious inductees into this influential organization including Ted Turner, James Kennedy Cox, Jeff Arnold, Jeff Sprecher and others for the last 11 years. THE FRENCH TOURISM DEPARTMENT Starting in 2012, Globalspeak developed and produced the Ultimate Virtual Road Show (UVRS) for the French Tourism Department for a number of years to stimulate tourism economic development for France. Hundreds of U.S. based travel agents were invited to participate in a highly invigorating and interactive webinar with Globalspeak produced videos on regions of France, live presenters in France on Webcams interacting with the audience, polls, downloads and more. The 4 a year UVRS programs were recorded and hosted by Globalspeak for on-demand viewing by even more invited travel agents. AND, MORE Other Globalspeak economic development projects have included clients such as the U.S. Postal Service, New Haven (Connecticut) Public Private Transportation Project, Tennessee Virtual Venture Forums for local startups and investors, Tennessee Valley Authority, Virtual Online Trade Missions from Atlanta to Africa, and more! An important recurring trend in Globalspeak President Frank Baia’s career has been the ability to inspire regionalization of business and economic development across competitive, yet adjacent, communities. Dedicated to the regionalization concept, Baia’s successful northwest Georgia weekly business newspaper inspired strong support and readership; and he added a second newspaper promoting regional goals to the business community in northeast Georgia. Prior to moving to Georgia, Baia founded and managed an Addy-award winning advertising and marketing agency. Contact us to learn more. |
