Among the many
U.S. company successes in Israel, here are a few:
iMimic
TX-based information technologies company iMimic participated in the
July 2004 Access Eastern Mediterranean (AEM) Information and
Communication Technologies Program. Commercial Specialist Sigal
Mendelovich in Tel Aviv proactively promoted the event to hundreds
of local contacts, identifying potential agents and distributors in
each of their respective markets. In Israel, Mendelovich carefully
matched iMimic’s interest with that of local agents, distributors
and end-users and presented these candidates to the Houston-based
company. The company then appointed a new Israeli representative as
a direct result of CS’ service.
Maxus
Worldwide Nutrition
Commercial Specialist Yael Torres counsels Israeli companies seeking
partnerships with U.S. exporters. CS Torres presented an Israeli
nutrition goods company with a copy of the monthly Commercial News
USA magazine, in which NY-based Maxus Worldwide Nutrition posted an
advertisement of its products. Because of CS Torres’ matchmaking
assistance, the Israeli company began to communicate directly with
Maxus; the companies’ relationship developed and resulted in a
$300,000 sale to the U.S. company.
Mohawk
An Israeli trade barrier was hurting the competitive position in the
Israeli market of Mohawk, a GA-based carpet manufacturer and
designer. Israeli Customs would not recognize the certificates of
origin provided by Mohawk. Mohawk's Israeli importer's customs
broker contacted CS Tel Aviv for assistance. CS Tel Aviv intervened
with Israeli Customs and determined the problem with the company’s
certificates. CS Tel Aviv resolved the mistake with the Israeli
authorities, and they soon accepted the certificates, thus allowing
Mohawk to ship its products into Israel.
Panola Pepper
Corp
CS Israel organized a U.S. Catalog Show at Israfood 2005, a very
popular Israeli food trade show. Participation at CS Tel Aviv's
product literature booth at the show provided U.S. exporters with a
an extremely low-cost, yet effective way for them to evaluate
interest in their product or service in Israel, and the region. As a
result of their participation in the Catalog Show, Panola Pepper
Corp., LA-based firm, participated in the Catalog Show. Following
the event, Commercial Specialist Alan Wielunski counseled the local
distributor and provided samples of Panola Pepper sauces. Soon
thereafter, Panola entered into a distribution agreement with Alaska
Food Ltd, an Israeli importer of general foodstuffs. Panola said
that, "It is not common for us to find a supplier so willing to be
helpful, especially due to the small size of our market, and it is
greatly appreciated here. You all were very important in securing
this contact."
Alliance for
Downtown New York
Alliance for Downtown New York was featured in the Summer 2005
in-flight magazine of an Israeli airline generating interest among
170,000 readers. The article represents $6,000 in free advertising
for the New York based Pow Wow exhibitor promoting local hotspots
such as the Financier Patisserie, Ulysses Bar, Waterstone Grill,
Amazing Thai, Cassis on Stone Bistro, Smorgas Chef and Bayard's.
This special feature was the result of CS Tel Aviv's customized
service to the Travel Industry Association of America (TIA).
