Atlanta International Airport and Dawson Municipal Airport

Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, one hour and 15 minutes south of Dawsonville, held its ranking as the world's busiest airport in 2011, both in passengers and number of flights by accommodating 92 million passengers (252,000 passengers daily) and nearly one million flights. As an international gateway to the United States, Hartsfield–Jackson ranks seventh and the airport services every continent in the world.

Dawson Municipal Airport is one of the fastest growing regional airports in the area, with an average of 65 planes based at the facility. Runways 13 and 31 are 4510 feet long and are operational 24 hours a day. The airport recently purchased land for expanding, which will include a new administration building, additional hangar space, adding a new fuel farm, additional ramp area, lengthening the runway and adding a full length parallel taxiway.
