ROOTS
Based in Metro Atlanta, GA, but serving clients nationally, Globalspeak is a full-service branding and digital marketing agency. Established in 1996, the company was founded by Frank Baia, an Addy Award winning marketing professional who owned a traditional marketing agency that represented top brands for decades.

Today, the Globalspeak team includes marketing and production veterans with years of experience as well as recruits from the best available young talent. All are focused on the innovative, fresh and unique ideas and applications that create successful influence marketing results for clients.

FROM THE BEGINNING, OUT OF THE BOX THINKING 
In 1996, Globalspeak approached the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) Commercial Service with an idea. Rather than going city to city with export training sessions to promote purchases of the Division's services, we recommended streaming the training live on the Internet to their invited audience across the U.S. A simultaneous recording would be made into an online training series available to prospects and clients as videos on-demand for months!

Video on the Internet and online training may be common now, but, remember, this was 1996. Streaming? (Live streaming was so rare and specialized, CNN asked to pick up Globalspeak’s live feed of the 1999 WTO Ministerial Conference in Seattle, WA, also known as the “Battle in Seattle.”) On-demand videos? (FYI: video on the Web was sized like a postage stamp because the Internet was not “high speed” yet.) All were very new marketing concepts. We even added an interactive viewing window for the 16 fifteen minutes videos with more training features -- such as self-scoring quizzes, polls, discussion boards, printable handouts, Help in a Hurry and more – which were not replicated as an interactive experience by other vendors until years later.

The efficiencies of less travel cost for Commercial Service training crews and increased sales by reaching more small business owners across the U.S. led to Globalspeak being awarded a long term contract in 2001 for training video production and interactive distribution on the Internet for years. Our original Export Basics training project was placed on the U.S. Department of Commerce Hall of Fame in Washington, DC, during the 100 anniversary ceremonies for innovating the department's marketing and sales efforts and catapulting them into the digital world of communications.
